Q: Love the theme, Carlo. Quick question: Since the narrow layout is already coded, would there be a way to enable it as the default layout?
Or better yet, could there be a way to switch over to the narrow layout if the image uploaded is too small? Like, make the photo box fit the image perfectly?
I post a lot of images from the Instagram iPhone App, and it outputs images in a measly 612x623 resolution. This look AMAZING in the narrow layout, but absolutely ridiculous in the standard layout.
Here's what I'm talking about:
On the regular layout: http://i56.tinypic.com/309tzs3.png
With the narrow layout: http://i54.tinypic.com/2eugx83.png
Thanks for listening!
Hi Robert,
I absolutely agree Re: instagram photos. Not everyone has High-Res images so blogs end up looking really awkward when filled with a bunch of small photos and empty gaps.
The fix isn’t terribly easy so I put it up on pastie. It will force the narrow layout and remove some extra bits that are no longer needed. The source also includes the fix I gave zirta a couple posts back.
Even with the 500px wide content area, some images can end up being smaller (i.e. Reblogged Posts). If you don’t mind the pixelation and want all images scaled to fit, paste the following code into the Custom CSS box (Advanced Tab):
.type-photo .photo-panel img { width: 100%; }
This can be used by anyone using Effector, not just for this. Well, that should do it! Thanks for using the theme!
